In this episode we chat about how changes in the cloud have been happening at a faster pace, making it harder every day to keep up with every new feature.
We start with the news of the week, which is AWS's announcement of RDS On-Premises, marking a flag for AWS in a territory they didn't even talk about before, unless it was to move to the cloud, not that this isn't their goal :D
You can see the launch Tweet here. As well as the thread continuing here.
We continue talking about the release velocity and about "drawing a line" and we remember the launch of EKS, AWS's managed Kubernetes platform, which was released without HPA, which is the AutoScaling of Kubernetes pods and was only now enabled as shown here.
So the lesson we take is that maybe we should look more seriously at the stack the company uses because if you try to keep up with everything, you might go crazy :P
As promised, some ways to keep up to date with the releases of the main public clouds: GCP AZR AWS And a highlight for AWSGeek
Our recommendations for the week are:
Diogo: Grammarly
Talita: Blog Post EKS
João: Mission: Impossible - Fallout
