#96 - Back to basic with Mateus Prado

In this episode of Kubicast we had the honor of welcoming Mateus Prado - who started his career as an IT instructor and today works as a Senior Technical Account Manager at AWS - to talk about the importance of having basic infrastructure knowledge to work in DevOps, without living off of "doing workarounds".

Sometimes the problem is not in Kubernetes but in the DNS, and you don't know how to interpret the message it is giving you. Also, what can happen is that when you don't know the HTTP protocol, another primary networking resource, you end up lost among statuses that you do not understand deeply and API responses. Then, you just find yourself praying that they get from one side to the other. 

So, in a DevOps role, especially as a beginner, your life will be easier if you understand the essential networking concepts, because in times of need you have to know how things work to be able to fix them, even if nowadays people work with platforms that abstract all of this!
