With experience both as an interviewee and an interviewer, Bernardo shared practical tips and honest observations that every technical candidate needs to hear.

Problems faced

• Lack of basic preparation regarding the company and the team that will be interviewing.

• Improvised, noisy, or uncomfortable spaces that negatively impact perception.

• Lack of clarity about one's own role or career path.

• Expectation of "being evaluated solely on technical skills" while ignoring soft skills and communication.

Throughout the episode, it became clear that an interview is not just about getting technical questions right — it is about building a connection, demonstrating maturity, and communicating value authentically. Technical skills matter, of course, but the way you present yourself, answer, and interact carries a lot of weight.

That informal setup with a messy background, a bad microphone, and a camera pointed at the ceiling can bring you down before the first question is even asked. What's more: saying that you "don't like calls" or that "the job is whatever comes up" shows that you might not even know what you're looking for.
